One of our clients had a customer that wanted to install solar panels on the roof top of his existing home. The intention was to install roof mounted accessories in order to mount the panels directly to the roof and these products added some additional weight to the existing structure. The goal of this project was to provide a design check of the existing roof capacity to determine if the existing wooden truss would be capable of supporting the additional loads from the solar mounting hardware.
